lyrebirds

we had the most exciting find today out waking by the dry creek bed....

I found a tail feather of a lyrebird... (its not the most impressive photo...)

I've spotted lyrebirds a few kilometres away - at the top of the rise to Dignams Creek - but never on the farm (this is the first lyrebird tail feather I've ever stumbled onto... in close to 40 years of rambling walks... can you imagine my excitement!) where there's a feather, there's got to be a bird!

for the uninitiated wiki gives the lowdown on lyrebirds here

maybe next time I'll spy the bird...
